La Tenuta della Francescana, located along the Via Nettunense, has belonged to the Caffarelli family for many centuries.
The land has deep roots in history — from the Age of the Romans, as a quarry for tuff and volcanic stone, to the Second World War, when the estate offered refuge to evacuees of the Pontina plain, which was besieged in the Battle of Anzio.
By virtue of its volcanic origin, the land is suitable for wine production. For this reason, the Murgo company has worked tirelessly to develop this terroir through the cultivation of indigenous Lazian varieties and international cultivars.
