Pinot Nero
The Pinot Noir grapes do not give opulent and full-bodied wines, but they have more than any other the ability to “fix” the characteristics of the terroir. However, they require an environment compatible with the early harvest and in which the subtle and complex aromatic notes that constitute the main charm of these wines can be preserved.
The choice to plant this vineyard is due to the great love we have for these grapes and for the numerous links that exist with the Nerello Mascalese grapes. The experimental works carried out since 1985 under the direction of the oenologist Giacomo Tachis have confirmed the great vocation of the Etna area for these particular grapes, which only in a few places in the world find favorable conditions.
Since the first harvests we have noticed interesting results and with the 2010 harvest the first bottling was done.
In the production technique we have tried to enhance the aromatic characteristics of the grapes and the terroir as much as possible.
Compared to other Pinot Noir wines, the great minerality is striking, which blends subtly with soft but firm tannins and which elegantly enhances the sensations of red fruit and spices. You also feel the presence of a sunny climate without this penalizing the freshness and fragrance.
